The Cairn at Lurgan is very extensive and contains prominent  features of archaeological interest such as ‘the giant’s table’ and a large cave with a small entrance on the left hand side of the cairn.

The best view to be seen within walking distance of Rossnowlagh is from Lurgan Cairn. On a clear day, portions of at least 6 counties, Donegal, Tyrone, Fermanagh, Cavan, Leitrim and Sligo, are visible.
